Wednesday – School Hunt

I was up early as Jason’s alarm didn’t go off, and he was worried that he might miss the bus and as they don’t come every 10 mins he can’t afford to miss it. I also needed to be ready for a man who was coming to do some maintenance jobs. As it was a lovely bright day I decided to do some more washing and take advantage of the sun to dry it. After lunch we had a walk to the local supermarket and Moo and I had a good look at what is available. Back to the house where I rang one of the local schools to see if we could go and look. Moo was very excited at the prospect, but Sam had seen the tangerine and blue uniform and was not impressed, it didn’t help that Tom was highly amused and kept laughing at him. Let’s just wait and see what Tom’s uniform is like, having seen quite a few of the kids I can just see Tom up and down in the knee length shorts, let’s see who will be having the last laugh then.

We have 2 schools, one on our doorstep which is Osborne Primary School and the other about 20 minutes walk which is Benton’s Junior College We live very close to a National Park and have signposts with koalas on them telling us to watch for them when driving, Osborne looks like quite a rural school and when we had a look at the website it has had some funding and financial difficulties in the past.

Benton’s is only 5 years old and a purpose built school, the web site looked very promising and it seemed to have more going for it then Osborne, although I am sure Osborne is a very good school. I made arrangements to go to Benton’s first and see what we thought and made an appointment for Thursday at 9.30. Jason was also going to see if he could make arrangements with work so that he could come.

Jason managed to sort out the lease today so we could make arrangements to order the car, he kept in touch with the garage, who were great and even said that if we order with them they will let us have a courtesy car until our car arrives, this is great news.
Another not so interesting day.
