Jason had agreed with work that he could come to school with us; we left home and walked, just getting to school before the heavens opened and the cats and dogs appeared. We were shown around the school, which sounds great, I really liked the facilities and it had a great feel to it, even better small class sizes, with only 21 kids in Sam’s class and less in Moo’s. We had a good tour of all the facilities and agreed to enrol the kids straight away; Mollie loved it that much that she wanted to start the following day, but we agreed Monday would be better. We filled out all the forms, good grief they like the forms and duly paid our $600+, $250.00 each for Sam and Moo’s books, you have to pay for them here, 2 day school trips for Sam and 1 for Moo and also the $120.00 deposit for Sam’s end of year school trip to Canberra in November, we still have $360.00 to pay for that, but can pay in instalments between now and September. Sam is well chuffed as he also had his trip to Marrick Priory earlier this year and now gets another trip too.
We also need to provide all our own stationary, so have 2 lists one for Sam and one for Moo of things we need to buy this weekend on Monday afternoon I have to go to the school uniform shop and buy the uniforms, that is going to be approx another $500, not cheap!
As Jason was going into work late he had agreed with Tim from the garage to come at 11 o clock so that he could sign the notice of intention form, which Jason then needed to fax to the lease hire company with some other application forms. Tim then agreed that once all the paper work had been submitted to the lease co and they had received the official order he would come back with a courtesy car.
This is a relief as we now have school bags, stationary, shoes etc to buy before Monday.
As promised Tim appeared about 4 o clock with a car it is a virtually brand new Ford Falcon with only 1000 K’s on the clock. Only trouble, it is automatic, Mollie and I bunny hopped round the development a few times before I got the hang of it, I then agreed to drive to Frankston to pick Jason up from the train station.
That was Ok, although I did end up on the wrong road, our next purchase is going to be a sat nav as I can’t map read and drive. We drove down the Moorooduc (said as Mooraduck, I think) highway which is only a dual carriage way in places rather than the three roads the Nepean Highway has in places, so going the wrong way probably was better for me. I also passed Tully’s local produce shop and will pop in tomorrow night on my way to pick Jason up.
The more I see of Frankston the more I don’t like it, there really are some strange people about but there are other places to go, they may be further afield but we don’t know, hopefully over the weekend we will drive in land and see what we find
When Jason arrived we had another tour of Dan Murphy’s, we are waiting until Jason gets paid on the 15th May, then will start buying wine by the box as it is even cheaper if you buy the whole box, we bought a selection of sparkling and will add to our list of likes and dislikes. We then drove to Mount Eliza village and had tea and a bottle of wine which was lovely, home and an early night as I was shattered after a late night Wednesday talking to mum and dad before they left the villa for their Bahamas cruise.
