Friday – Stress Day,

After getting the car out of the garage, which is great as it has an electric door, the kids and I drove into Mornington to buy school shoes, socks, and stationary, it is a lovely day, not raining for what seems like a change as it has rained every day this week so far. First stop was target where I wanted to get both Sam and Moo a pair of Navy casual trousers which they could wear on the first day of school, the school has a uniform shop which only opens on certain days, and we had missed last weeks and it was not now open until 2.30 – 3.30 on Monday. I eventually got them both a pair of jersey type pants which I had seen some of the other kids wearing and started looking at the stationary, this was a NIGHTMARE, they were really specific with what you had to buy - 450ml of glue, 250 gm glue stick, 2 hole metal pencil sharpener, 4 pacific ocean checking pencils, need I go on, I could believe me, if any of you would like the full list I would be happy to oblige.

Needless to say I couldn’t get what I wanted in this first shop, we then bought shoes for Moo, back packs for both and when we passed a newsagents I went in to see what stationary they had. Thankfully the woman in the shop was a godsend, she took the list of me, got what she had in stock and ticked them off for me, but we still didn’t have everything. She suggested we go to Office works on the Neapan.

We set off, me still very nervous about driving, the kids had driven me mad, as Sam had left his backpack in the shoe shop, all three had been messing about with a mirror in the shoe shop and with the driving and the school stationary list, I was very stressed.

We stopped on the Neapean at KFC’s for lunch, only because it is quick and I was going to drive passed it, so why not, after lunch we left and set off towards Mount Eliza to office works, about half way Sam told me he had left his coat in KFC’s, I then had to find somewhere to turn round, drive back, get the coat and then go back to office works, I was a wreck, I had a blinding headache and could have cried, the kids were bickering amongst themselves in the back of the car. We got what we wanted from office works and just came back, I had headache pills and went to bed, when Jason rang I told him I was not going to pick him up, I just couldn’t. I really was in a foul mood, with a blinding headache. Driving a new car is one thing, but when you have no idea where you are going either is not great.
