Shippers arrived just after 9.30 again, they had finished the top and middle floor and were now clearing the downstairs, summer house and garden. We spent a lot of time cleaning the rooms they had cleared, not really sure why as when we walked back in an hour or two later, it still looked like it needed cleaning, obviously the dust was still settling.
We also needed to look at our suitcases, Jason described this event as a management challenge, see how you can fit all this, into these with them not weighing more than 20 kilos each, within this timeframe, it was a nightmare and fairly obvious after a while that we were not going to succeed. We rang Emirates and it was agreed we could send an extra suitcase via Emirates cargo for £117.00, but it had to be with them the following day. Jason then tootled of to dad’s to pick up an old suitcase of theirs and we filled that.
Shippers finished just after 3 which was good as we still needed to clean the downstairs and that would take some doing, Buster does make a mess when he comes in all wet, so we had lots to do in the kitchen, but we managed.
Marie and Ian had kindly invited us to theirs for supper, we were meant to arrive about 7 and were late arriving about 7.30 ish, which is not like Jason and I at all, especially if alcohol is involved we are usually bang on time. We had called at Donnas and asked her to keep an eye on the house and left her with contact details in case the alarm went off, thanks for that Donna, it really is appreciated. We also found a new home for Toms old bike, hope you enjoy it Johnny!!
Marie and Ian had made a lovely meal for us, antipasto starter and then spaghetti bolognaise which was soo tasty, it was a lovely night again, they took some pics which I am hoping they will send us a copy or two. We are soo lucky to have met and befriended some great people at our time on Aspen Grove, whoever buys the house will be lucky to be moving into such a lovely development and if we don’t like it in Oz we will be more than happy to come back to Aspen Grove.
After leaving Marie and Ian’s we were off to mum and dad’s for our first night there, we were sleeping in the back room on the sofa bed, which isn’t the comfiest, anyhow we had a few beers with them and went to bed as Jason had to be up at 6 to take our cargo suitcase to the Servisair part of Manchester Airport
