Today I applied for jobs, local and part time, huummmm think I am pushing it, there are very few jobs and the good ones which are only part time. School hours seem to be few and far between, but we will see, while going through the jobs list, I got a text from Sally inviting me to afternoon tea, and it was a proper afternoon tea, we had tea or coffee, scones, jam and clottered cream, she had also done some fruit and veg with dips for those being healthy, it was lovely, I met Gail for the first time too and her daughter. I also made friends with Bronson, Sally’s dog, he is GEORGEOUS, so soft and loving, the kids would love him, they are desperate to have Buster, but we just can’t afford to send for him at the moment, also if I am going to be working we couldn’t leave him in our open plan, cream carpet rental
Thursday night was back to school for the Safety House Meeting, Safety house’s are identified by their yellow triangles and are places children and senior Victorians can turn to when they feel unsafe or need urgent assistance. Safety Houses are screened and supported by local volunteer committees, if a child is out and has an accident they know to look for a Safety House to seek assistance, if they are being bullied or in a situation they are not happy with, they will look for a Safety House, it isn’t just kids knocking on the door when they need the loo as they are too far from home, this is the link for more info http://www.safetyhousevic.org.au/ Anyhow I have applied to be on the committee and also be a safety house, just filling out the forms.
When I picked up the kids form school we also saw Taylor, who said to Sam, give your mum the thing from my mum, and Sam did, it turns out that Taylors mum owns a local hairdressers and she had given him a voucher for 25% off a haircut and colour, OK, I know I didn’t look my best, but did I really look that bad – I must have done, needless to say, I won’t be going with the crystal tips look for a while as it seems you don’t know how you’re going to meet.
