Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Monday, school assembly was great, they had the Mornington Secondary Police Cadet Drummers showing what they do, they were really good and I really enjoyed watching them, so did the kids. Haley and I then went into Mornington for lunch and coffee and cake of course, we had a mooch round the shops after lunch and it was lovely, the sun was shining it was about 20 degrees and I just had a shirt and jeans on, no coat, not bad for winter.

Tuesday, Katya, Mark and Poppy called as they were in the area looking at rentals, they only arrived last week and it was lovely to finally meet her, we have been mailing one and other since last year, so it was great to catch up finally, they are coming back and staying with us on Saturday until Sunday, hopefully we will be celebrating them having a rental and enjoying what is on offer locally and showing them round, well what we have seen so far.

Wednesday, after a visit to Aldi and of course the veg shed, Peppa and I took Lilac, Finnegan and Lottie to the park, weather wasn’t as good as Monday and Tuesday but at least it was dry, we had a lovely hour or so wandering round with the kids and dog and talking about jobs and just how Jason expects me to fit one in, we just don’t know.

Thursday I met Diane for the first time, she has been here with her family for 3 weeks, I am the first person other than the friend she has been staying with she has met, it was great again to catch up with her as we have been email chatting on forums for some time now. I am going to make arrangements to meet her again next week and of course take her to our famous veg shed.
Friday was back to Sally’s for Chardonnay Friday, bit like Friday drinks we used to have Nikki, but these start at 1 o clock, I didn’t have to worry about Sam as he was going straight to Nathans from school, so I picked Mollie and two of the other ladies daughters from school at 3.15 and went back to Sally’s, getting home about 8.30. We had a great laugh, they really are good company although Jason wasn’t too happy with me for being so late.

Saturday, Katya Mark and Poppy came to stay, we had a drive down the coast road to Sorrento, the weather was not great and it was quite windy, so not the best day to be out and about, after cake and coffee we drove to Portsea back beach, a couple of pics here for you to see. Mark and Katya had a viewing on a rental at 3.30 so we needed to be back for that, although when we got to the house they decided it wasn’t for them and we went up to Fantastic Furniture and Sydney’s so they could have a look.

We also had Hayley, Paul and Millie for tea, we had Turkish bread and dips and tomatoes with mozzarella to start, lemon and pepper whiting and a roast beef joint, sprouts, carrots, broccoli, plain roast potatoes, roasts cooked with the beef and roast sweet potato which seems to be Toms all time favourite at the moment. I think I did well with the meal due to the power cuts we seem to be having at the moment, it goes off at the most awkward times. After we had eaten out came the Wii for a golf tournament, which brought back BIG memories of home, not just the power cuts in between, but Jason has already set up a profile for Paul, but didn’t have time to do one for Mark, so Mark was Phil Todd for the night, it was really strange seeing him, well not physically seeing him, but his Wii Me, we reminisced about our nights in with the Todd’s and showed our new friends your pic, which has pride of place on our dresser along with other family pics. It was a lovely evening, Hayley knows others with young children and said she would take Katya to the local childrens meets so she could meet some other mums when they move into the area.

Sunday, Katya, Mark and Poppy left mid morning, poor Poppy is teething and was not a happy bunny, again it was raining and there doesn’t seem to be that much to do here when it rains, there are loads of outdoor places, but nothing indoors. Jason and I were shattered, we are used to a lie in on a weekend and when you have company don’t feel that you can, we were also up early yesterday to sort out the bed and change the sheets etc, so no lie in then either.

Jason and I went into Mornington to get a cycle repair kit and pump for Sam’s bike, picked up more tomatoes, dips and bread and had a lazy quiet afternoon, Tom played on the X Box and Moo and Sam played out, Sam went to the general store again for his iced coffee, I have told him he needs to start earning some money, so he can pay for all these coffees himself. It was left overs for tea and that's it, not a very interesting day at all.

Glad you are still reading. Ahh now the bike, well as you can see from the posts I have not been able to schedule that in as yet.

Also I am not sure if Mollie would be able to cycle the distance, Sam looked like a beetroot when he did it and had sweat pouring off him.

We need to do a practice run on a non school day for Mollie to see how she goes, if she can manage then I will have to take the bike to do the school run.
