Evening Out

We got the kids sorted and left them with Tom to look after and set off up the road (distance from our house to Nicky and Phil’s) with our chips (crisps) bottle of sparkling and some beer (nothing changes), everyone leaves shoes on the doorstep here, why, I don’t know, you have no idea what is going to crawl in and go to sleep, apart from me that is, my feet smell so bad that nothing would go anywhere near my shoes without being gassed and as I didn’t bring that many pairs with me and have one really comfortable pair in particular that I have worn nearly every day since being here, that are ready to walk themselves to the bin. Anyhow we noticed lots of shoes outside, these belonged to Tony and Jane and their children, sorry really rubbish with names and can’t remember kids names.

They were really lovely and have been here 2 years, they live opposite Hayley and Paul and have a swimming pool, not that we will base any decisions on that. We had a curry takeaway which wasn’t all that bad, although they do things different, we asked for Kashmiri rice and a Kashmiri Naan which usually has coconut and raisins in the middle, not here, both the rice and the naan had squished glace cherries, it was still nice though. We got home at 12.30 which was much later than I thought we would be, but it was a great night with really good company, Jane and Hayley are really easy to get along with and Jason seemed to be enjoying talking football with Tony and Paul.
